THE STANDARD
First, understand what the instrument needs.
Every instrument is assessed before any work begins. I look at the entire playing system—neck relief, fret surface, action, intonation, string tension and the musician’s own touch.
The recommendation is then made clearly, with the scope and cost confirmed before the work proceeds.

Relief, action and intonation are balanced around your tuning, strings and playing style.

Fret levelling & polish
The fret surface is levelled, crowned and polished to restore accuracy and ease of play.

Complete refret
Worn frets are replaced and the playing surface rebuilt with precision for the instrument’s next chapter.

Binding, stainless-steel frets and finished maple fingerboards require additional work and are quoted separately. Prices are confirmed after assessment.
